Meet the Palmdale Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door
Otto’s Garage Door isn’t a franchise with a rotating cast. The people who answer your call, drive to your house, and fix your door live here in the Antelope Valley. We shop at the same grocery stores and our kids go to the same schools. Otto Reinhardt has kept the crew small on purpose since 2004, because a tight team means nobody hides behind a call center. When you call (661) 605-7159, you get a person who knows Palmdale. When the truck pulls up, the name on the door matches the person holding the clipboard.
Our People
Mike T. – Lead Technician
Mike has been turning wrenches on garage doors for 18 years, and he’s been with Otto since 2009. He’s the guy who can diagnose a problem by sound alone: a squeal means one thing, a thunk means another, and a grumble usually means your spring is counting its last cycles. Mike holds manufacturer certifications from LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Genie, which matters when an opener has a warranty question hanging on it. He’s also the reason our trucks are stocked the way they are. Mike refuses to leave a driveway for a “lost part” that any competent truck should carry. When he’s not under a door, he’s rebuilding a 1972 Chevy C10 in his garage in east Palmdale. The truck runs. Most weeks.
Danny R. – Senior Installer
Danny joined Otto’s in 2014 after spending a decade doing high-end carpentry, and it shows. His installs are square, level, and quiet. Danny handles most of our new-door installations, and he takes an almost annoying amount of time measuring before anything gets bolted down. That’s why our doors hang straight for years while other companies’ doors sag by the second summer. He’s certified on Clopay, Amarr, and Wayne Dalton product lines, and he’s the first to tell a homeowner when a door panel is cosmetic and when it’s structural. Danny coaches his son’s Little League team over in Quartz Hill and has a standing rule: no garage door talk at the dinner table. His wife made the rule.
Lisa M. – Service Coordinator
Lisa is the voice most people hear first when they call Otto’s. She’s been with us since 2012 and runs the schedule, which in garage door terms means she does real-time triage. Lisa knows that a car trapped inside a garage at 7:15 on a Tuesday morning is an emergency, while a squeaky roller can wait for the afternoon slot. She keeps our published phone number answered by a live person around the clock, and she writes everything down. If you called yesterday and told her your opener is a Genie from 2008, she’ll remember that when the truck arrives. Lisa grew up in the AV, went to Palmdale High, and raises bees in her backyard. She says the bees are easier to schedule than garage door emergencies, and she’s right.
Chris V. – Apprentice Technician
Chris is the newest member of the crew, apprenticing under Mike for the past two years. He’s earned his spot by doing the unglamorous work: hauling old doors to the recycler, restocking truck shelves at 6 a.m., and holding the ladder steady while Mike notches a torsion spring. He’s already passed his LiftMaster opener certification and is working through spring and cable training next. Chris is 26, a former Army mechanic, and the most patient person on this team by a wide margin. He’ll explain the same repair three times in three different ways until you’re confident you understand what the quote covers. If you see a younger guy in an Otto’s uniform who looks like he’s taking mental notes on everything, that’s Chris. He is.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this team operates under the same rules Otto set down in 2004. Show up when you say you’ll show up. Quote the price on the phone and hold it at the door. Carry the parts that fix 95% of breakdowns on the first trip. If you do the work and it’s not right, come back and make it right, no argument, no charge, for 90 days, in writing. That’s the Done Right Promise, and it applies whether Mike is swapping a spring or Chris is shadowing on his second call of the day. No one on this crew gets paid extra for upselling you a door you don’t need. Otto’s name is on the van, the invoice, and the license. The team knows what that means. If it has his name on it, it’s done his way.
